Down Payment and Closing Cost Grant

Our Down Payment & Closing Cost Grant provides assistance with all costs associated to the closing of a home mortgage loan in Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Kiowa and Tillman Counties in Oklahoma.

NOTE: To qualify for this program, check to make sure you meet the income eligibility requirements.

Before funds can be released, an environmental review must be completed, which may take up to 60 days. It’s important to wait to schedule closing dates until the environmental review is completed. Contact smahan@comanchehousing.com for more information about the review process.

Grant Application

Please complete the application and provide the following documentation listed below.

  • Copy of the loan approval letter from bank
  • Copy of the contract and estimated closing cost
  • Copy of last 2 pay stubs
  • Copy of last two year’s W-2’s (If self-employed, complete copy of last year’s Tax Returns, including ALL schedules)
  • If Social Security, Retirement or Disability income is used, you must have a copy of your most recent awards letter showing the monthly benefit
  • Copy of driver’s license and social security card for each applicant (not required for children)
  • Copy of CDIB cards

Funding Amount

As the homeowner, you are responsible for informing our team of all costs related to the purchase of your home, including down payment, earnest money, appraisal fee, home inspection, etc. Elders can receive up to $15,000, and others are eligible to receive as much as $10,000.

Once we receive a settlement statement from the lender, the DP & CC grant funds will be issued on the next available check day.

What areas are eligible to participate in the Down Payment and Closing Costs Program?

The service area for the program include Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Grady, Kiowa, Stephens and Tillman Counties in the state of Oklahoma.

If an application is submitted after the closing of a house, can the applicant receive the Down Payment & Closing Cost grant money?

No, the grant money will be paid directly to the closing company unless otherwise agreed upon between CNHA and the client. For example, if some of the grant money is to be used for a home inspection, then the applicant will need to submit the invoice so that payment can be made directly to that service provider.

Are there income guidelines for the Down Payment and Closing Cost Grant?

Yes.

What is the maximum amount I can receive through the Down Payment and Closing Cost Grant?

$15,000.00 for Elders, age 55 and over, or $10,000.00 for all others.

Do I have to repay the Down Payment & Closing Cost Grant that I receive from the CNHA?

Not if you do not sell the house in accordance with the terms of the Useful Life Agreement. Call for more information.

What expense does the Down Payment & Closing Cost Grant Cover?

Earnest money, appraisal fee, home inspection fee or any other monies needed for closing.

Do I have to be a first time homebuyer to qualify for the Down Payment and Closing Cost Grant?

No, but you cannot have been a previous recipient of the grant.

How do I get qualified for a Down Payment and Closing Cost Grant through the CNHA?

Client must fill out a complete application.
