CNHA Donates Goods to the Comanche Nation Family Assistance Center

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 - Lawton, OK

The CNHA believes that the holiday season is a time of great need for many in our community.  This year employees of the CNHA demonstrated their holiday spirit by donating food and other goods to the Comanche Nation Family Assistance Center.

The CNHA believes strongly in the Family Assistance Center's mission which is to educate, empower and advocate for Native Americans to strive to protect their families and communities from crimes of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, especially against their women and children.

In November, employees collected food items that were presented to the FAC just in time for Thanksgiving.  While interacting with FAC staff, CNHA employees learned that items that are always in need at the FAC included:   bedding, women and children's clothes, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous items such as paper towels, Kleenex, paper plates, cups, bowls, school supplies, and toys.  CNHA employees immediately started another collection drive for those items.  On December 16, the CNHA was able to return to the FAC with another load of donated goods.
